
Ministry of Education in Somaliland Strengthens Cooperation with Save the Children.
The Minister of Education, Nurture, and Education of the Republic of Somaliland, Prof. Ismaail Duale Yusuf, alongside the State Minister for Ministry of Education, Mohamed Faa’ul, and the Director General of the Ministry of Education, Abdirahman Hussein Haji, welcomed a delegation from the Save the Children office in Somaliland.
The meeting, held at the ministry's headquarters, served as a platform for both parties to get acquainted and strengthen their cooperative relationship. During the session, discussions were focused on areas of mutual interest, including initiatives to improve the quality of education, increase access to schooling for vulnerable children, and enhance the capacity of teachers and school administrators across Somaliland.
Prof. Ismaail Duale Yusuf emphasised the importance of partnerships in achieving national educational goals, stating, “Collaboration with organisations like Save the Children is crucial in addressing challenges and delivering impactful results in the education sector.”
Save the Children’s delegation highlighted their ongoing projects in Somaliland and expressed their commitment to supporting the Ministry's priorities. Key areas discussed included providing educational materials, infrastructure development, and ensuring inclusive education for marginalised groups, particularly girls and children with disabilities.
The State Minister for Ministry of Education, Mohamed Faa’ul, noted that this meeting marks a significant step in fostering mutual understanding and creating a roadmap for future collaboration. Abdirahman Hussein Haji, the Director General of the Ministry, reiterated the Ministry's dedication to strengthening partnerships that align with the country’s vision for an equitable and quality education system.
The meeting concluded with both parties expressing optimism about working together to achieve sustainable improvements in education in Somaliland.
