A large delegation led by the minister of education and science and the top officials is in Kenya.


A large delegation from the Ministry of Education and Science led by the Minister of Education and Science JSL Md. Ahmed Mohamed Diriye "Toorno" has left for the Kenyan capital Nairobi on a working visit.

The delegation includes WW&S Director-General Md. Ahmed Abokor Mohamed, Director of Administration Mr. Mohamed Saleban Omar and the Minister's Adviser Mr. Said Mohamed Jama (Boodsane).

The purpose of the delegation's visit is to strengthen education ties between the two countries, consult on the development of the 2022-2026 Education Development Plan, coordinate the implementation of education projects, and establish the Somaliland Educational Development Fund.

The delegation of the Somaliland Ministry of Education with the technical support of the Embassy of the Republic of Somaliland in Kenya began its work with a welcome meeting with the Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Somaliland to Kenya, Amb. Sharmarke Guelleh and embassy staff.

The delegation met today with the European Union (EU) to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation, increasing funding for education in the Republic of Somaliland, and preparing education development projects based on the 2022-2026 Education Development Plan.

The Minister's delegation also held a working meeting with Adam Smith International to sign a technical agreement funded by the European Union to enhance the Ministry's service to the community and the overall development of education in Somaliland.

The delegation is expected to hold meetings in the coming days with donors, the Kenyan education sector, and the Somaliland community in Kenya, God willing.
