Gar’adag (04, January 2025) The delegation led by the First Deputy Speaker of the Somaliland House of Representatives, who has been on a working trip to the Sanaag region for the past few days, arrived in Gar’adag district today, where they inspected important educational and technical centres.
The delegation, which consisted of senior officials, included:
• The Minister of Education and Science
• The Governor of Sanaag region
• Members of the Somaliland House of Representatives
• Gar’adag district administration inspection of educational centres
The officials inspected the vocational school and Ibrahim Barre University (IBU) in the Gar’adag district. The purpose of this inspection was:
Assessing the educational situation in the district.
Strengthening the quality of the district’s vocational school
Promoting higher education and the development of IBU University
Accelerating educational services and the needs of students in the district
The officials listened to a report from the administration of the vocational school and IBU University, enquiring about the state of education, existing challenges, and how it can be improved. They also pledged to contribute to the development of education and the enhancement of educational opportunities in the Sanaag region.
The people of Gar’adag district warmly welcomed the delegation, expressing their need to strengthen educational services and vocational skills in order to develop the future of the local youth.
